Car Company Clash of the Day: Speaking of Chevy, the General Motors division has reportedly ruffled Ford’s feathers with its “good-humored” Super Bowl ad showing a post-apocalyptic world in which Chevy Silverado owners lament the loss of a friend who drove a Ford F-150.

“Woke today with letter from Ford asking Chevy to pull 2012 Super Bowl ad,” GM’s CMO Joel Ewanick said in an email. “Really! We stand by our longest-lasting most dependable truck.”

Asked if Chevy plans to comply with Ford’s request, Ewanick said the company would not, adding, “We can wait until the world ends, and if we need to, we will apologize.”

This commercial just aired. Well done. Points to Chevy.
